Advantages of VW scheduled maintenance plans
One of the biggest benefits of buying a new car is the feeling of security you get knowing it is starting off with a fresh slate. There’s no unknown history that you fear somehow didn’t make it into the CARFAX report, no worries about stress caused by a missed oil change or two and zero questions about highway versus city miles aside from what the fuel economy looks like. You’re the first owner and taking care of your new ride is entirely in your hands, but on the other hand you want to make sure you keep it running smoothly for as long as possible. Volkswagen offers a number of plans that can help you take care of your new vehicle, while also saving money in the long run. With so many options available, there are certainly many advantages of VW scheduled maintenance plans.
Volkswagen makes it easy to service your vehicle as the automaker offers what it refers to as “Carefree Maintenance.” Essentially, our vehicles have a longer interval between scheduled maintenance because Volkswagen uses synthetic oil. Lengthening the time between oil changes. You’ll notice models like the 2016 Volkswagen Golf have 10,000 mile intervals for scheduled maintenance, so you’re starting off with a fairly carefree experience. That is, if dropping by to get your oil changed every three months doesn’t fit well into your schedule. In addition to this, there are two different prepaid scheduled maintenance plans:
Volkswagen Care: Available on 2015 or newer vehicles, the first two manufacturer-recommended schedule maintenance services are performed for 2015 model years and the first three for 2016 model year vehicles, as stated in your maintenance book. This would be the 2 year/20,000 and 3 year/30,000 mile for 2015 model years and 1 year/10,000, 2 year/20,000 and 3 year/30,000 mile checkmarks for 2016 model year vehicles. You can also quickly check what’s included by searching for your vehicle in our maintenance menu.
Volkswagen Car Plus: Available for 2014 models and newer, the Volkswagen Care Plus plan covers the 4 year/40,000 and 5 year/50,000 mile manufacturer recommended services.

What are some of the advantages of these plans? First, you have the reassurance that you’ve already paid for the maintenance, which means if it doesn’t seem affordable later down the road, you don’t have to avoid it. In some cases, we can even add the cost to your initial loan. The cost of the plans also save you money over time, as the cost of individual services can add up fast, often causing customers to cut some necessary maintenance that could prevent repairs later down the road. Plus, paying for it ahead of time means you can avoid any inflation of service costs. We also use OEM parts at our service center, assuring high quality maintenance.
