Performance Specs for the 2021 Volkswagen Golf 

To be sure, there are a lot of exciting things happening in and around the world of Volkswagen. However, the team of product experts working in the Compass VW showroom doesn’t want people to forget about the existing lineup that got the automaker maker to where it is. To start, our product experts wanted to take a closer look at the performance specs for the 2021 Volkswagen Golf. Previously, we have lightly examined the 2022 VW Golf R, which is the high-performance variant of the Golf family. For the 2021 model year, the latest version of the Volkswagen Golf will retain its dynamic and efficient performance profile and a few of its most popular convenience features will now be standard equipment. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect to find with the 2021 Golf.

What does the 2021 Golf have under the hood? 

Volkswagen is going all-in on the 2021 VW Golf. It will be available in a single trim called, the Golf TSI. That means every 2021 Golf will employ a turbocharged 1.4-liter, inline four-cylinder engine. Compass VW customers can choose a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Both gear changers will help the 2021 Golf produce up to 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. 

Additionally, the 2021 VW Golf will be able to achieve 29 miles per gallon in the city and 39 miles per gallon on the highway, when equipped with the manual. Versions with the automatic will be able to record 29 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Available Interior Space  

The 2021 Volkswagen Golf will be able to comfortably hold five passengers. People sitting in the front seat, the driver and front passenger will have 41.2 inches of legroom. This will leave those in the rear of the 2021 Golf with up to 35.6 inches to stretch their legs. Of course, the 2021 Golf will have a lot of cargo volume to offer. When passengers are occupying the backseat, there will be 17.4 cubic-feet of cargo volume. Folding the rear seat down will be able to make up to 25 cubic-feet available to use.
