Volkswagen updates infotainment systems for the 2021 Atlas Cross Sport

What is new for the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?

The next couple of model years are going to deliver some exciting things in the way of Volkswagen crossover SUVs. At this point, we have already been introduced to a new compact crossover and a purely electric model. However, the existing models are not being left out of the game. So, what is new for the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport? Our manufacturing partner introduced the Atlas Cross Sport platform just a couple of years ago, so it will retain its same bold and athletic stance on the road. However, owners of the 2021 Atlas Cross Sport will see some interesting upgrades in its available list of connectivity equipment. Let’s take a closer look at the new features you can expect to see when it goes on sale.

Updated Volkswagen Infotainment Technology

While the entry-level S trim grade of the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport will use the second-generation of the automaker’s infotainment system, the rest of the lineup will get the third generation MIB3 system. The centerpiece of the MIB3 infotainment system is a glass-covered 8-inch touchscreen that will support wireless smartphone integration as well as multiple phones being paired simultaneously. Users will be able to trade off which of the connected devices is in control of the MIB3 system as they please. Additionally, the MIB3 system used in the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport will feature enhanced voice recognition software.

Models with this capability will also have a pair of illuminated USB-C ports in the center stack. SE trim grades and above have a pair of USB ports for charging compatible devices in the backseat.

Will it have digital gauges?

The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit is one of the most coveted features offered by the automaker. SEL versions (and higher) of the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport will be equipped with the digital gauge cluster, comprised of a 10-inch display that can be customized to show the driver a variety of information.
