According to the latest information released by Volkswagen, production of the new VW Tiguan crossover SUV will start this year. However, it will be available as a 2022 model. As best as we can tell, the automaker will still produce two- and three-row versions of the Tiguan for the American market.
New Technology Features
As the most popular crossover SUV wearing the VW badge, it only makes sense for the coming 2022 Tiguan to be equipped with the manufacturer’s most impressive technology. The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit was previously only available on the model’s top trim grades. Buyers who take the 2020 Tiguan home will find it on every available model. If you need a little reminder, the VW Digital Cockpit allows divers to customize the digitized center gauge cluster to show the most important information to that particular driver including, speed, navigation and the status of the vehicle’s safety systems.
Is the 2022 VW Tiguan going to be a hybrid?
We know that Volkswagen is committed to delivering an extensive fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles. When the news about the 2022 Tiguan was released, there was some initial buzz about a potential hybrid variant becoming available. Without question, this would really be exciting. Unfortunately, only European VW customers will be getting a plug-in version of the Tiguan crossover SUV.
