There are two- and three-row versions available, all-wheel-drive isn’t available on both of them. Buyers who need additional space can choose Tiguan versions with three rows of seating, but those don’t come with AWD. Conversely, version with 4Motion® all-wheel-drive have two rows of seats, but more maximum cargo volume, 73.5 cubic-feet with AWD and 65.7 cubic-feet without.

2020 Atlas Cross Sport with AWD

Volkswagen is a little more consistent with its newest member of the crossover SUV roster. The chief difference between each available version is going to be which power- and drivetrain its equipped with. Models with either the turbocharged 2.0-liter, inline four-cylinder or the available 3.6-liter, V-6 can be equipped with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. If someone is worried about losing fuel economy by choosing all-wheel-drive, there is only a one-mpg difference between the FWD and AWD versions of the 2020 Atlas Cross Sport with either engine option.

2021 Atlas with AWD

Like its new Atlas Cross Sport sibling, the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas makes all of its seating options available with both engine and drivetrain options. That means all 2021 Atlas models available at Compass VW will have three rows of seats to use, which can also make up to 96.8 cubic-feet of interior cargo volume available. Also, like its Atlas Cross Sport sibling, the 2021 Atlas will be powered by either a turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a naturally aspirated V-6.
